Vet'Eau Antiseptic Cicavet'Eau Gelling Powder 30g

Product manufactured by the Vet'eau firm, for veterinary use, made available to owners for the well-being of their fish.

Cicavet'eau Iodine is a gelling disinfectant dressing, specially designed for application to external wounds of fish and other freshwater or seawater aquatic animals.

Cicavet'eau Iodine isolates the wound from external contamination, while maintaining the disinfectant compound (povidone iodine).

Vet'Eau

Cicavet'eau Iodine has broad-spectrum antiseptic properties, particularly against bacteria, viruses, certain protozoa, fungi and other fungal agents.

Non-irritating and non-painful product, which does not contain alcohol or aggressive excipients. Its gel aspect protects the wound without the risk of alteration of scar cells by adhesive effect. Once gelled and hydrated on the surface, the dressing becomes very slightly adherent externally, which prevents surface contamination by environmental dirt while limiting product loss during friction.

Vet'Eau

The gelling dressing Cicavet’eau Iodine can be used on the entire body of the fish (skin, fins, eyes, lip, etc.) except at the gills.

DO NOT APPLY TO THE GILLS

Depending on the area of application and the context, the hold of the dressing can vary between several tens of minutes and several hours.

Vet'Eau

Cicavet’eau-Iodine can be used on a recent injury (mechanical injury, scratch against a net, skin removal or scraping, etc.) and disinfects the wound and the margins of the wound during the first minutes of immersion, while isolating the breach until the capillaries close.

Cicavet’eau-Iodine can be used on an old and infected wound, after cleaning and removing dead tissue, and can be used as a dressing to cover and protect a local treatment carried out in contact with the wound (ointment, liquid betadine, etc.)

OUR ADVICE FOR APPLICATION

1 - Before applying the Cicavet’eau Iodine powder, gently dab the wound and its periphery with a compress to obtain a moist but not wet area. This allows the product to adhere longer to the animal.

APPLY A THIN LAYER OF POWDER TO THE INJURED AREA AND ON THE PERIPHERAL EDGE

2 - Apply the dressing to the wound, then as far as possible on the periphery to increase adhesion and protect the margins of the wound.

3 - Once the area is covered with a thin layer of Cicavet’eau Iodine, gently immerse the fish to make the dressing gel. The process can be repeated several times for more precise application. Avoid applying too thick a layer of powder at one time as this reduces the product's hold.

For treating multiple wounds, you can use a fine sprayer with water to gel the powder while keeping the fish out of the water.
