2D DualBeamPLUS™
Humminbird Improved Use of Dual-Beam "DUAL BEAM" Sonars to Achieve Wider Coverage Combined with Better Bottom Definition
- 200 kHz, 20 ° wide center beam indicates fish and bottom (narrow beams provide more detail)
- 83 kHz, 60 ° wide beam only indicates fish icons
DualBeamPLUS ™ technology uses two concentric beams and sophisticated processing algorithms to combine data from both beams.
- 200 kHz, 20 ° center beam indicates fish and bottom
- The 83 kHz, 60 ° wide beam indicates fish as well as the bottom.
- The echoes from the two beams can be viewed simultaneously or individually on the screen
- The coverage area on the bottom is of a diameter equal to the depth
Humminbird® FishID™ Technology
The Fish ID+ function interprets the echoes using the most advanced calculation methods to display the fish symbol and its depth, if applicable, in addition to the echo return.
In the presence of a target, the Fish ID function displays a symbol in the shape of a fish, larger or smaller depending on its actual size.
The Fish ID+ feature adds a number on the screen above the drawing to indicate the depth at which the fish is detected.
The display of the Gray line is made possible by the representation of the image displayed on the screen in 4, 8 or 16 gray levels, making it possible to define the type of background detected by the probe: A wide and dark line indicates a hard bottom, a thin and clear line indicates a loose sand or mud bottom.
The color screen provides even more information and precision on both the nature of the seabed, the presence of fish and, in general, the underwater environment.
Humminbird® Switchfire Technology
With its two display modes, offers the best readability depending on the exploration conditions.
The exclusive Humminbird SwitchFire ™ system allows you to choose how the return echoes are displayed.
You have the power to adapt your device according to the fishing conditions.
Humminbird® Down Imaging® Technology
The DI shows us what is happening under your boat, with a level of detail close to the photo.
The views obtained in Down Imaging ™ form a surprisingly precise image of the structures located directly in the beam of the transducer, therefore vertically above the position of the boat. This is a special processing of data from a high frequency probe.
Because Down Imaging ™ and 2D sonar are complementary, Humminbird sonars and handsets equipped with this technology are also 2D (Dual Beam Plus) sonars.
These models come with the dedicated SH-A10T probe, tri-beam and tri-frequency: 455 kHz / 75 ° @ 10db; 800 kHz / 45 ° @ 10db; 200 kHz / 25 ° @ 10db.
All Side Imaging handsets incorporate Down Imaging ™ and Dual Beam Plus technology.
Beam diagram
Down-Imaging technology uses a thin beam directed downwards to take a succession of photographs of the bottom present under the boat. (in yellow on the diagram above)
The DI software gradually brings together these series of slices to compose a detailed and precise 3D view of the underwater landscape extending vertically from the hull.
