Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR, what's that ?
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined by the European Commission as a management concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and interactions with their stakeholders.
In other words, CSR is “the contribution of companies to the challenges of sustainable development”. A company that practices CSR will therefore seek to have a positive impact on society while being economically viable.
Chronocarpe, a company rooted in Ariège.
Created in his garage in 2005 by Ariel NUNEZ, Chronocarpe has always been anchored in his own territory: the Pays d'Olmes, in the eastern part of the Ariège department in the Pyrenees.
With its presence on the internet (and in the early days with a paper catalog), Chronocarpe very quickly turned to "pure player" (100% web) with a permanent desire for innovation to improve the user experience on the websites.
Faced with the growth of its activity, the manager very quickly made the choice to surround himself with local partners on all levels (human, technical, financial, logistical, etc.). Since 2006, Chronocarpe has become one of the major players in the carp fishing market in France. Results hailed by the Midi-Pyrénées digital economy trophies (E-commerce category winner) and by a rapid increase in the number of customers and orders. This encouraged the hiring of qualified personnel to provide customer service and the expansion of the storage warehouse to broaden the range of products while guaranteeing shipment within 24 hours.
Housed in the beginning in the "Ariège Expansion" premises, the growing need for space was met with the opening of the "Hôtel d'entreprises de la Coume" by the "Communauté de Communes du Pays d' Olmes" in Lavelanet. Initially on a surface of 500m², an extension was made up to more than 2500m² in less than 5 years with a close partnership with the lessor. At the same time, the number of employees, almost all local, has increased from 5 to more than 20 and nearly 30 in 2021.
All of the company's activities are still carried out internally. A team of web developers has been in charge since the beginning of designing the website and making it evolve, taking into account the latest technologies and user expectations. All marketing-related operations (creation of product sheets, photos, online advertisements, newsletters, etc.) are designed by Chronocarpe in Lavelanet. The purchasing part and the commercial service is also provided on site as well as all the logistics and the shipping of packages to customers. The level of activity of Chronocarpe also makes it possible for carriers to maintain rounds which ensure daily collections in the area.
Several versions of the website have been developed, with particular attention to the security of financial transactions, the content of the product presentation sheets and above all the prices charged and the quality of service. The opening of applications for mobiles and tablets (Apple and Android) in 2014 has made it possible to reach a large, very nomadic public, always fond of new technology.
Acquired by NOTUS TECHNOLOGIE in January 2017, Chronocarpe continues in the same spirit and economic model to satisfy carp anglers: choices, prices, stock!
The new shareholder, having been seduced by the company and its local presence, naturally maintained its full confidence in the staff already in place by anchoring the activity even more in Lavelanet.
Supported by the "Caisse du Crédit Agricole de Foix Entreprise (CA SudMed Ariège)", the development of Chronocarpe continues, also internationally. Close partnerships have been concluded with schools in the area, in particular with the "Lycée des métiers Jacquard", which offers training in logistics and administrative management. Every year many trainees are integrated into the teams and some are now full-time employees. For these recruitments, Chronocarpe is in direct contact with the Pôle Emploi advisers here in Lavelanet as well as the support structures for people looking for work (Mission Locale de Lavelanet, etc.).
In addition, whenever possible, Chronocarpe chooses to work with local companies. As such, we are part of the "Club des entrepreneurs du pays Cathare" which brings together dynamic companies and offers solutions for economic vitality in partnership with local authorities.
For logistics supplies, Cartofrance (Chalabre 11) is our main cardboard supplier, and we develop specific packaging with them that combines safety, lightness and cost. Office consumables are supplied by a Calipage (Pamiers 09), IT by MDS (Lavelanet 09), the handling machines by BTR Chaussonnet (Laroque d'Olmes 09), and the printing of marketing documents is provided by the Imprimerie du Noisetier (Lavelanet 09). Concerned about the environmental impact of its activity, Chronocarpe has concluded an agreement with Smectom du Plantaurel (09) for the treatment and recovery of paper and cardboard waste.
This version of the website (opened in April 2019) meets all technological standards to ensure simple, fluid and intuitive use on both a desktop computer and a smartphone. In addition, the site is designed to comply with regulations concerning the confidentiality and protection of the privacy of users and customers (RGPG 2018).
